Nov. 16, Seminar: Minimizing the Cost of Debt Collection in the U.S.

 The Chamber, in cooperation with Wasserman, Comden, Casselman & Esensten law firm, held a seminar on Minimizing the Cost of Debt Collection in the U.S., with Advocate Monte Silver, partner in the law firm. The seminar took place on Wednesday, Nov. 16 2011 at the Conference Room of the Chamber in Tel Aviv.  

Nov. 7: Meeting with a Business Delegation from Rhode Island

The Chamber, in cooperation with the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation, held a luncheon with a business delegation from Rhode Island, on Monday, Nov. 7 2011, at IDC Herzliya.

The event was geared toward potential investors in Rhode Island.

The Chamber, in cooperation with JMB Factor Law Firm, held a seminar on Preparing New Medical Technologies for the U.S. Market, on Tuesday, Nov. 8 2011, at the Beck Science Building, 8 Hartom St., Har Hotzvim, Jerusalem.

Sept. 13, Seminar: Cures for Humanity 

The Chamber, Gideon Koren and Co., Law Office and Ernst & Young held a seminar on "Cures for Humanity" – From Invention to Commercialization., on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at the Science Park in Rehovot.

Sept. 12: Concert in Honor of U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Hon. Daniel Shapiro

Past Israeli ambassadors to the U.S. - Hons. Zalman Shoval, David Ivry and Itamar Rabinovitz; Ambassador Gao Yanping of China and Ambassador Radovan Javorčík of Slovakia, were among hundreds of Chamber Members, public figures and businessmen participating in a reception and concert, in honor of the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Hon. Daniel Shapiro, on Sept. 12 at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art in Tel Aviv.

The Chamber and Fox Rothschild held a webinar: U.S. Sanction Laws that may Impact your Business - How to Act Accordingly, on Thursday, Sept. 8. The webinar was geared toward any company or individual who does business in or with the U.S. The webinar was sponsored by the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority.

Sept. 6, Meeting: On Visa Issuance and Trade with U.S. States

The Chamber, together with the Manufacturer's Association, held an informational meeting on the new procedures for issuing a business visa, and meetings with trade representatives from various U.S. States. 

The event took place on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at the Manufacturer's Association.

Aug. 15, Seminar: Your U.S. Tax Obligations

The Chamber held a seminar on Your U.S. Tax Obligations – and OVDI, on Aug. 15, with Alan Cohen, Managing Director of US Tax & Financial Services Middle East GMBH, and Bradley Albin, International Corporate Tax Director, at the Asia House.
The seminar was aimed at U.S. citizens and residents, and green card holders, who are required to file annual income tax returns reporting worldwide income. The OVDI (Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Initiative) encourages people who have not complied with their U.S. tax reporting requirements – to do so by Aug. 31. To access the presentation, click here.

Aug. 11 - Meeting with Deputy Health Minister

The Chamber hosted MK Yakov Litzman, Deputy Health Minister, on Thursday, Aug. 11, at the Chamber Conference Room. He discussed the physicians' sanctions, as well as his reforms, including dental care for children, caretakers and mental health. Additionally, he answered questions of concern to the participants, primarily from health-and-drug related companies.

July 14 - Enroll in an MBA Program

The Chamber, with Eshkolot Company, a Member of the Chamber, held a meeting on entering a leading MBA program at the Chamber. The meeting was geared toward prospective MBA students in Israel or abroad.

April 11-12 – U.S.-Israel Business Leaders Forum

On April 11-12, the U.S.-Israel Business Leaders Forum took place in Washington D.C., with the participation of the American-Israel Chambers throughout the U.S. and the Israeli economic attaches in the U.S. Israel-America Chamber of Commerce was represented by Tamar Guy, Executive Director.

April 12 – Workshop: Presenting for Action

Dozens of Chamber Members participated in a workshop on Presenting for Action: Communicate so that Passion Becomes Results, on April 12, at the Manufacturers Association of Israel. Donna Abraham, Communications Specialist at Boyer Communications, a Member of the Chamber, provided participants with tips on how to deliver, in a world that is drowned by information, noticeable, significant and action-oriented messages.

April 12 – Seminar: Financing Options for Israelis Investing in U.S. Commercial Real Estate

The Chamber held a seminar on Financing Options for Israelis Investing in U.S. Commercial Real Estate on April 4 at Dan Tel Aviv Hotel.

March 8 - Conference: Fair Disclosure

The Chamber took part in a conference on Regulation Fair on Disclosure – a Legal Framework, Media and IR Perspective, on March 8. The event was organized by BNY Mellon Depositary Receipts, a Member of the Chamber, and the Israeli IR Forum.

Speakers included: Jeff Corbin, CEO of KCSA Strategic Communications; Daniel Gamulka, partner at the law firm of Gross, Kleinhendler, Hodak, Halevy, Greenberg; Dan Harverd, head of research at Deutsche Bank Israel, and Ofer Segev, CFO and EVP of Ness Technologies.

Dec. 30 - Seminar: Dandelion Marketing

The Chamber, in cooperation with Signal Business Development, DLA Piper and Never Stop Marketing, held a seminar titled "Be Remarkable, on Dandelion Marketing: How to Increase Your Odds of Going Viral" on Dec. 30, 2010.

Dec. 19 - Seminar:  Commercial Real Estate in the United States: Yes, No and How

The Chamber held a seminar on Commercial Real Estate in the United States on Dec. 19, 2010 at the Dan Hotel in Tel-Aviv.
More than 200 guests listened to presentations on various aspects of real estate, including  U.S. Real Estate Market: Overview, Trends and Opportunities; Structuring and Operating Real Estate Investments in the U.S.; The Israeli Institutional Investor's Perspective; U.S. Taxation of of Foreign Companies Investing in U.S. Real Estate and Legal Issues for Foreign Companies Investing in U.S. Real Estate.

Adv. Monte Silver of Wasserman Comden Casselman & Esenten said that new U.S. tax regulations will render foreign investments unworthy, unless foreign entities provide loans to U.S. companies, allowing the latter to purchase investments for the former.
Adv. Gil Raveh, Partner at Erdinast Ben Nathan Law Firm, said that U.S. taxation laws treat foreign investors like any U.S. business owner, including in all aspects of taxation.

Nov. 3- Seminar: Financial Reforms in the U.S.

The Chamber, in cooperation with the High-Tech Industry Association, Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and Mintz Levin Law Firm, held a seminar on Financial Reforms in the U.S., on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2010 at the stock exchange.
Keynote speakers were Advocates Adam Sisitsky and Laurence (Larry) A. Schoen of Mintz Levin.
The seminar was geared toward CEOs, CFOs and legal advisors to private and public Israeli companies operating in the U.S. and those intending to commence operations in the U.S. 

August 17: Meeting with Senator Scott Brown (R-MA)

Chemi Peres, Chairman of the Chamber, hosted Senator Scott Brown (R-MA), who was elected seven months earlier, the first Republican Senator from Massachusetts since 1967, on Aug. 17, at the Dan Hotel in Tel Aviv. This was Senator Brown's first visit to Israel, doing so after meetings with the U.S. forces in Afghanistan, in Jordan and with the Palestinian Authority. Participants included Dani Ziv, CEO of Plasan Sasa; Zeev Zelig, Managing Director of Genzyme Israel; Jonathan Heimer, Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Israel; Rafael Harpaz, Director of the Economic Department for America & Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who has recently served in Washington, and Tamar Guy, Executive Director of the Chamber.
